The results of the survey are listed to ensure representativeness. The sample is drawn based on gender and age group. The collected interview data is integrated with a number of Statistics Denmark registers, which provide the relevant background information. Based on register information, weights are constructed that correct for certain groups responding less frequently than others. The sample weights ensure that the participants in the survey have the same composition as the Danish population. The calculation is done by regression estimation.
Source data
The survey is questionnaire-based and supplemented with information from a number of Statistics Denmark registers. The EU part of the survey is based on the results of approximately 3,200 conducted interviews - collected in April-June 2026, among a representative sample of the Danish population aged 16-74 years.
The national part of the study is based on the results of approximately 3,400 completed interviews collected in April-June 2026, among a representative sample of the Danish population aged 15-89 years.
Data for the StatBank table LABY51 are retrieved from the Agency for Climate Data.
Frequency of data collection
The data is collected every year in the second quarter.
Data collection
Data are collected via web questionnaire and telephone interviews. If the selected individuals do not participate after a reminder, an attempt will be made to conduct the interview by telephone.
Respondents’ background information is obtained from register data.
Data validation
The data is compared to results from previous years.
On the EU side, a number of checks provided by Eurostat ensure that data are consistent and in accordance with the reporting manual. These checks also alert on implausible responses and data where it is manually assessed whether there is a basis for making corrections to the data.
Data compilation
Data is compared with results from previous years.
Via an anonymized personal identification number, the answers from the interview/web form are linked to a number of register information on, for example, age, income and education. Weights are constructed from the register information, where a regression estimate is used to correct for the fact that some social groups respond less frequently than others. This ensures that the sample corresponds in terms of numbers to the number in the population on, for example, gender, age and income groups and partially corrects for skewed drop-out in the sample. These weights are used when creating the tables in Statbank.
Adjustment
No further corrections are undertaken, than those already described under Data validation and Data compilation.
