User access

Statistics are always published at 8:00 a.m. at the day announced in the release calendar. No one outside of Statistics Denmark can access the statistics before they are published.

The statistics are not published in a separate publication series.

On-line database

The statistics are published in the StatBank under the subject Consultations of physicians in the following tables:

• MEDIHER: Purchases of prescription medicine by ancestry, key figures, type of medicine, age, sex and time
• MEDIARB: Purchases of prescription medicine by labour market affiliation, key figures, type of medicine, age, sex and time
• MEDI1: Purchases of prescription medicine by municipality, key figures, type of medicine, age and time

It is possible to gain access to de-identified data through Denmark’s Data Portal . See the variables in the Danish pharmaceutical products database. You must obtain approval from the Danish Health Data Authority to use data in your project.

Confidentiality - policy

Data Confidentiality Policy for Statistics Denmark is applied.

Confidentiality - data treatment

The statistics have been anonymised using Tau-Argus, with a suppression threshold of 5 individuals. Tau-Argus does not only suppress cells with fewer than 5 individuals, but also those from which such small numbers can be indirectly derived. This is referred to as secondary suppression.
